Other names include: carpet sedum, needle stonecrop, or sea urchin.
Stonecrop sedum with small, fleshy stems and spiraling green leaves, and requires little attention due to its drought and heat resistant qualities. Sedum is native to East Asia and is a species of the Crassulaceae, or stonecrop family. Thrives in 6+ hour day of direct sunlight and can survive in hot, dry temperatures. Plants typically flower during the summer, depending on conditions. Though, the plant is slightly toxic if ingested, some benefits of using the leaves as a poultice include reducing inflammation, alleviating pain when applied externally.
Non-toxic, safe for pets; ingestion is still not recommended.
Our varieties are established using a custom cactus soil blend of organic matter and compost.
All of our sedum lineare plants were originally sourced from growers in the New Braunfels, Texas area.
Thrives in full sunlight and prefers warm, arid climates.
We recommend the plant should change pots when leaves continue to wilt after watering. It's a customer preference. We also suggested refreshing the soil every year or so, regular fertilizing, and rotating the plant based on seasons (i.e. winter months plant cannot survive cold temperatures, will go dormant and need to be inside near the most light, less watering).
Plant is sensitive to overwatering and prefers soil that is light, airy, and free draining. Recommended to check soil before watering, about every couple of days or so (condition dependent), and water at the soil level rather than on the leaves.
