Culinary herb. Use for hot and refreshing cold teas as a lemon substitute. Medicinal: Lemon balm has anti-viral action in lab tests against herpes simplex, mumps, and other viruses. Also a sedative, calmative, and carminative.
Perennial in zones 4-10. Transplant. Full sun. Can grow up to 30" tall.
 
This herb was grown from seed and then transplanted to soil.
 
Plant can be repotted to well-draining soil in pot or directly sowed in ground. Prefers bright, direct light -- transplant outdoors when the temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer.
